Advanced Dental Technology & Comforts Mesquite

The Best of Modern-Day Dentistry

To provide truly world-class care, Dr. Rana has invested in some of the newest dental technologies available today. The tools detailed below not only help us find and diagnose problems in less time, but they also keep our patients more comfortable during their treatments, ensuring an efficient and pleasant appointment every time. Here, state-of-the-art instruments combine with premier clinical care to deliver a dental experience in Mesquite unlike any other.

Digital X-Rays

X-rays are an essential tool in our office, helping our team catch dental issues before they are even visible to the naked eye. We only use digital X-rays because, compared to traditional film-based X-rays, they’re able to generate images in much less time, they don’t require toxic chemicals to be developed, and they also emit up to 80% LESS radiation. This gives many of our patients (especially parents) peace of mind!

Intraoral Camera

Ever have trouble understanding what your dentist is talking about? Now, with our intraoral camera, we can actually show you your smile exactly how we see it, making it much easier for our team to explain what’s going on with your dental health. It is a small device no larger than a pen that is tipped with a powerful camera. It can capture high-resolution images of the teeth and gums, and we can show them to you on a large monitor right in the treatment room.

CT Scanner

Complex dental procedures often need high-resolution imaging for more accurate treatment planning. This is why we turn to our CT Scanner. Designed to highlight even the most intricate areas of the head and mouth, our team can easily view nerve pathways, blood vessels, teeth, gums, bones, and other similar areas so that we better understand how to properly place dental implants, remove infected pulp, and administer other extensive forms of treatment with greater ease.

Digital Impression System

Capturing a mold of a patient’s smile no longer requires the use of cold dental putty. Instead of forcing individuals to bite down and remain still while the gag-worthy material sets, digital impressions make the process easier, faster, and more comfortable. Using a handheld device that quickly scans a person’s teeth and gums, we can retrieve the images needed for technicians to fabricate a custom restoration with greater accuracy and precision.

Soft Tissue Laser

Lasers were first introduced to dentistry back in the mid-90s, and now, they help our team perform several sensitive periodontal (gum) procedures every day while keeping our patients much more comfortable. With its focused beam of light, we can literally vaporize harmful bacteria along the gumline as well as remove infected tissue, all the while leaving the surrounding healthy gums completely untouched. This helps reduce pain, swelling, and bleeding both during and after a procedure. In fact, the laser is so gentle that most patients don’t even need a local anesthetic.

Cavity Detection System

Our iTero 5D cavity detection system is truly unique because of its ability to identify even the smallest areas of decay. By scanning the internal areas of each tooth (the enamel and dentin layers), the reflected near-infrared light can easily detect interproximal cavities in their earliest stages, making it possible to administer treatment before the decay has the chance to spread to other areas of the mouth.

Nitrous Oxide Sedation

Does going to the dentist make you or your child feel nervous? If so, you’re far from alone, and nitrous oxide may be exactly what you need to take the stress out of your dental appointments. A patient simply has to wear a small nasal mask and breathe in the colorless, odorless gas for a few minutes, and this will create a warm, calming sensation throughout their entire body. The mask stays on for the entire appointment, and when it’s removed, the effects quickly go away, enabling a patient to resume their normal routine.
